Transneft: Ukraine received payment for transit via Druzhba

The Ukrtransnafta company confirmed receipt of payment for the pumping of Russian oil through the southern branch of the Druzhba oil pipeline, report “RIA Novosti” with reference to the adviser to the president of “Transneft” Igor Demin.
“The Ukrainian side has confirmed receipt of the payment,” he said.
The day before, the operator of the Czech section of the Druzhba oil pipeline Mero informed, which expects the resumption of Russian oil supplies on August 12-13 after solving problems with transit payments. According to him, the customer is taking the necessary steps to resolve this issue. The press secretary of the Bratislava refinery Slovnaft, Anton Molnar, in turn, told RIA Novosti today that one of the European banks has revised its decision to block the payment and accepted the documents.
On August 4, Ukrtransnafta stopped the pumping of Russian oil through one of the branches of the pipeline to Hungary, the Czech Republic and Slovakia, Demin reported at the time. The reason was the inability to pay for services for pumping oil through Ukrainian territory after the introduction of the seventh package of European sanctions. sent through Gazprombank the payment was returned to the Transneft account.
The transit of Russian oil to Hungary and Slovakia resumed on August 10 after local operators, the Hungarian oil and gas company MOL and the Slovak plant Slovnaft, agreed with the Ukrainian side and independently paid for the oil transit.
The Druzhba pipeline starts in the Samara region, passes through Bryansk, and then splits into two branches: northern and southern. The northern oil flows through Belarus in the direction of Poland, Germany and the Baltic States, the southern – to the Czech Republic, Hungary and Slovakia. According to Transneft, oil exports to non-CIS countries via Druzhba in 2021 amounted to 35.9 million tons. In February, the company announced plans to increase pumping to 45.5 million tons per year.
