Transneft received applications from Germany and Poland to pump oil in the second quarter

Transneft received applications from Germany and Poland to pump Kazakh oil through the Druzhba pipeline in the second quarter of 2023. This was announced by the head of the company Nikolai Tokarev.
“As far as I know, there are applications from Germany and Poland for the pumping of Kazakh oil in the second quarter, but I don’t know yet how the situation will develop,” Mr. Tokarev said (quoted by Interfax).
Since March 2022, the Polish state concern Orlen stopped buy spot lots of Russian oil. However, the company has signed an oil supply contract with Tatneft, which provides for the supply of 200,000 tons of oil per month. It expires in December 2024. The German authorities said that in 2023 they would import raw materials from Kazakhstan via the Druzhba oil pipeline.
December 20 Nikolay Tokarev declaredthat Transneft has received applications for pumping oil from Poland for the entire current year, from Germany for the first quarter. In “Transneft” reportedthat in February they are ready to start transporting 20 thousand tons of oil from Kazakhstan through Russia, Belarus, Poland to Germany along the northern branch of the Druzhba. At the same time, Poland agreed to accept oil from Russia and purchased 500,000 tons of energy in January.
