The Ikea Industry Tikhvin plant in the Leningrad Region will resume work on September 1, message this appeared in the trade union group on the VKontakte social network. It is clarified that a buyer for the plant has not yet been found.
“From September 1, Ikea Industry Tikhvin resumes work. There will be two shifts, week after week. Payment – 90% of the salary. In this mode, the enterprise will, tentatively, work until the New Year,” the message says.
It is noted that equipment is being prepared to start production. Starting September, salaries to employees will be paid to the Mir card of Sberbank. Also, the trade union noted that since the start of work, the payment model will be changed: “For downtime, at least 2/3 of wages will be paid, but not more than 80% of earnings.”
At the same time, the press service of the government of the Leningrad Region reported that information about the resumption of the work of the enterprise has not yet been received.
In mid-July, the Committee on Labor and Employment of the Leningrad Region reported that, by agreement of the parties, 50% of the employees of the enterprise would be fired, as a result, 500 out of 1000 people would remain in the state at the plant in Tikhvin.
Since March 4, all IKEA stores in Russia have been temporarily closed amid logistics problems and sanctions. It was previously reported that the company’s stores would remain closed until at least August 31, but in mid-June it became known that the company was looking for buyers for its 4 factories in Russia, laying off employees and selling off the rest of the goods. The sale for employees took place at the end of June in the stores of the chain. The online sale for customers started on July 5th and will continue until August 15th.
