In May-June 2023, the number of purchases in catering establishments at gas stations across Russia increased by 16%, turnover – by 23%, calculated in the “Check Index” – the operator of fiscal data “OFD Platform”. This segment was distinguished by the most striking dynamics among other catering establishments. In fast food, the number of purchases over the same period increased by 5% yoy, revenue – by 11%. In cafes and canteens, visitor traffic and revenue increased by 7% and 13%, respectively, in restaurants and bars – by 10% and 20%.
Such dynamics in catering outlets at gas stations is due to the high interest of Russians in road trips this year, analysts of Chek Index explain. Many Russians choose this format of independent travel and picnics due to the difficulties of air communication with places of attraction for tourist flows, they add.
Earlier, the vice-president of the PCT, Dmitry Gorin, said that an increase in autotourism was recorded in the Krasnodar Territory. In some regions, tourists who go on vacation to Krasnodar resorts by car make up at least 60%, the expert noted.
