During the performance of the Tokyo Hotel group at the Deichbrand Festival in the north of Germany, technical problems began, due to which the group had to stop the performance in the middle, according to the tabloid Bild. This was the band’s first performance at a festival in their homeland; before that, Tokyo Hotel in Germany played only solo concerts.
“We are very sorry. We have prepared such an amazing set for you,” said Bill Kaulitz, the band’s lead singer. Later, the musicians said: “We are terribly depressed. Everything broke, we couldn’t get back on stage. The whole system, everything was bad.”
Bild called the band’s performance a “big live failure” but noted that fans “were still happy to see their idols”, especially the forced performance of the hit “Durch den Monsun” in an acoustic version. However, some fans left the concert before the technical break was announced.
Today, July 22, Tokio Hotel will perform once again, but at another festival – Christopher Street Day (CSD) in Berlin. 500 thousand visitors are expected at the festival. In July, the band began their tour in Germany with the album “2001”, released in November 2022.
