TNF participants predicted a continuation of the personnel shortage in Russia

The shortage of personnel in the labor market in Russia will continue in the near future, said Irina Zhuk, Deputy General Director of the Federal Competence Center for Labor Productivity.

At the TNF industrial and energy forum in Tyumen, Zhuk, in a conversation with reporters, noted that “there is and will be a shortage,” writes “Kommersant”.

The problem of personnel shortage is relevant for all sectors of the economy, including the oil and gas sector, emphasized the head of the department for personnel and organizational development, exploration and production block “Gazprom oil” Galina Goloshchapova. According to her, this is not a problem for HR, but “even for the state.”

Oil and gas companies need to form a single order for training students for colleges and universities, otherwise educational institutions will be scattered to suit the order of each enterprise and, as a result, will not provide quality education, Goloshchapova believes.

She also pointed to another business challenge in HR. According to Goloshchapova, enterprises have difficulties not only with finding new employees, but also with retaining current ones.

The oil and gas industry needs employees who specialize in working with new technologies. At the same time, there is a need for “old” specialties, says Rector of Tyumen State University Ivan Romanchuk.

Minister of Economic Development Maxim Reshetnikov in September statedthat the unemployment rate in Russia is now abnormally low. According to him, the current figure of around 3% negatively affects the country’s economy. The labor market is experiencing a quantitative and qualitative shortage of personnel, and this is a “serious systemic challenge,” he added.
