TJournal ceased to exist 11 years after opening

The Russian online edition TJournal has ceased its work. On the editorial decision to close the project due to lack of funding became known 22 August. Problems with raising funds began against the backdrop of blocking the site in Russia at the request of the Prosecutor General’s Office.

The project was launched in 2011. Together with Vc.ru, he entered the Komitet publishing house. Roskomnadzor blocked TJournal in March 2022 for “fake news” about Russia’s military operation in Ukraine. In Belarus, the publication was blocked back in February. After the blocking, site traffic dropped, the donation system stopped working.
