Tinkoff will prohibit employees from working remotely abroad from 2024. An exception will be made for Armenia, Belarus and Kazakhstan, because the company’s development centers are located there, reports RBC with reference to a Tinkoff representative and two company employees.
The credit institution explained the ban by saying that Tinkoff is a systemically important organization and a subject of critical information infrastructure, therefore it is subject to requirements from the Federal Service for Technical and Export Control. The second reason, according to a Tinkoff representative, is measures to prevent leaks of sensitive information in conditions of a high risk of attacks on the IT infrastructure.
Two company employees told RBC that the information was told to them unofficially by HR managers or department heads. According to them, due to the conditions put forward, some Tinkoff employees began looking for a new job.
The fact that Tinkoff Bank recommends that employees who leave Russia choose three countries for placement: Armenia, Belarus and Kazakhstan, Frank Media reported citing sources back in November 2022. November 4, Tinkoff group stated, which switched to a hybrid work format in 2020 and is ready to discuss the possibility of transferring employees from the office if it is important for someone to switch to a remote format. At the same time, the company added that it does not recommend employees to leave the country.
