Tinkoff Bank reported a delay in sending customer transfers in foreign currency due to the credit institution falling under the sanctions of the United States and Canada. In the near future, the bank plans to change the conditions for making currency transfers and promises to notify its customers about this.
“On July 20, we fell under US and Canadian sanctions. We find out exactly how this can affect transfers in foreign currency. We will tell you about changes in the conditions of currency transfers in the official Tinkoff channels,” the message posted on site financial organization.
Tinkoff Bank came under US and Canadian sanctions the day before. Now citizens and legal entities of the United States and Canada will be prohibited from doing business with a Russian bank. At the same time, according to the OFAS license, operations with sanctioned banks, including Tinkoff Bank, are allowed until October 18. After the introduction of Canadian and US sanctions, UnionPay cards issued by the bank stopped to work abroad, Tinkoff Bank advised its clients abroad to withdraw cash.
