The head of the Moscow Department of Culture, Alexander Kibovsky, said that tickets to the theaters of the capital for New Year’s performances were completely sold out. He reported this TASS.
“We have full houses everywhere, we don’t have tickets. All of our Christmas events are sold out. Because, even if you go to the poster of any of our respected Moscow theaters, they simply do not exist. For all performances,” said Mr. Kibovsky. According to him, the New Year’s weekend week “at all times” was in great demand.
He said that one of the main events of the New Year’s program for children will be the Moscow Mayor’s Christmas Tree. “We invite the best in school, our wonderful young athletes, our future hope in the field of culture, art, winners of various awards, that is, those who will create the pride of our city tomorrow. It goes without saying that we also invite children from the families of participants in the special military operation, including, of course, those who have been mobilized,” said Mr. Kibovsky.
In November, Moscow authorities held an online vote on the format of New Year’s events in the capital. Over 80% of online voting participants in Moscow were in favor of holding New Year’s events and festive decoration of the city. More than half of the approximately 300,000 respondents chose the option of a holiday without mass festivities. At the same time, Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin explained in his blog that the authorities will refuse fireworks and large street concerts this year.
