In Overath, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany, German singer-songwriter Hans Blum, also known as Henry Valentino, died at the age of 95.

The Spiegel newspaper reports that the singer’s death was confirmed by his family. The report said he passed away peacefully at home overnight, just as he wanted.

Hans Blum became famous back in the 60s. The main hit is considered to be the song “Im Wagen vor mir” recorded in 1977 with his duet partner. Overall, he created a distinctive style of German schlager, which became a source of inspiration for a whole generation of German musicians.
