The Cabinet of Ministers will allocate 600 million rubles for Intervision in 2024
The Russian government is allocating 600 million rubles to hold the Intervision competition in the country in 2024. The corresponding order was signed by Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.
In accordance with the document, the money will be allocated from the reserve fund of the Russian government and directed to the Fund for the Preservation and Support of Cultural Heritage and the Development of National and World Culture.
The funds should be spent on preparing and holding the international popular song competition “Intervision” in St. Petersburg. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation is required to control the targeted spending of money.
Russia previously sent its representatives to the European international song contest Eurovision, but the event became politicized against the backdrop of events in Ukraine. The Russian side refused to participate in this competition.
Russian cultural figures proposed establish an international song competition in our country. They called for making it open to all states that share our spiritual values and are ready for mutually respectful dialogue.
