There is a collapse in Sevastopol: people are irritated, the taps are empty, some in desperation are collecting rainwater with buckets

Prose writer and publicist Platon Besedin, January 19 declared “MK”, which does not observe “raging elements” in its city, contacted our correspondent to confirm that the bad weather “reached” Sevastopol.

“Today it has piled up,” Besedin said alarmedly, listing the settlements that were flooded in Crimea: Sugar Loaf, Sturmovoe, Chernorechye, describing what was happening in the following words:

“It’s just a disaster there. Sheds stand in the water, cars float in the water. But now it’s drowning in Sevastopol itself. “Wet snow has also started to fall, hitting us in the face.”

“In almost 40 years of living here, I don’t remember that it rained so heavily and nervously. It pours and pours, as if in some Manchester or Birmingham. The weather is disgusting – and the biggest problem is that it’s stable and everything is so sad,” says our interlocutor.

According to him, due to the flooding of the waterworks, the water supply to apartments and houses within the city was completely cut off. Water supply is bad. Moreover, addresses are indicated where water carriers can be found, but there they are empty. Collapses of supporting walls onto roads continue. There are traffic jams around the city.

“People are annoyed,” says the Crimean, “in my last post on social networks, I thanked the responsible services for eliminating the consequences of bad weather every minute – and immediately received a portion of hate. It’s okay, I’ll thank you again – the simple workers and hard workers. It’s unpleasant to go outside here, and they’re exposed to bad weather for days.”

Platon Besedin doubts that local authorities “can control the situation”:

– They said there would be no water for so long, but in fact it was much longer. Tell it like it is. Describe reality. And people will adapt. And so people sit without water and it is unclear where to get it. Some people put buckets outside and collect rainwater.

“Judging by what is happening, we are doing something wrong. We overload communications, we build too much…. The nature of Sevastopol was tormented – that’s the collapse,” our interlocutor sums up what was said.
