The Yakovlev company announced the completion of state tests of the new light training aircraft for the initial training of Russian Aerospace Forces pilots, the Yak-152. The next stage in the development of the project will be the abandonment of foreign components.
“At the end of last year, in accordance with previously approved plans, state joint tests of the Yak-152 were completed. During these tests, the main flight characteristics of the aircraft were confirmed,” the Yakovlev press service told the agency. “RIA News”.
As the company added, they plan to replace the Yak-152 with foreign-made components – the engine, propeller and other parts. The press service clarified that Yakovlev is considering two options for replacing the engine: import substitution of the existing installation and adaptation of the VK-650 helicopter engine.
The Yak-152 aircraft is used for initial training of pilots and training of sports pilots. It is used to practice simple, complex and aerobatics skills, as well as aerobatics techniques as part of a group.
