The White House rebuked OPEC + for solidarity with Russia

White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre called it a mistake solution OPEC+ to cut oil production by 2 million barrels per day. She stated that in this way the organization “solidizes” with Russia. Former US President Joe Biden named the OPEC+ decision is shortsighted.

“It is clear that OPEC+ is in solidarity with Russia with its decision today. I will limit myself to this, ”said Jean-Pierre at a briefing (quoted by RIA Novosti). She added that low- and middle-income countries would feel the impact of the oil cuts.

White House tried to dissuade the OPEC+ countries from this decision. The US fears that the decline in oil production will lead to a sharp increase in fuel prices. The US president has ordered an additional 10 million barrels from the strategic oil reserve to be released to the market in November in the short term.
