The total wealth of the richest Russian entrepreneurs increased by $8 billion in January, according to the rating data Bloomberg Billionaires Index. The owner of Severstal, Alexey Mordashov, became richest of all in January – by $2.14 billion, the creators of BBI calculated.
The index consists of the world’s 500 richest people, whose wealth is calculated based on the share price of the companies in which they own stakes. The total wealth of all 26 entrepreneurs from Russia represented in the index is $507.14 billion as of February 1, the BBI reports.
The richest entrepreneur in the Russian Federation, according to the index, remains the president of the Interros holding and MMC Norilsk Nickel Vladimir Potanin, whose fortune is estimated at $31.7 billion. In second place is the head of NOVATEK Leonid Mikhelson ($27.4 billion), in third — co-owner of LUKOIL Vagit Alekperov ($25.5 billion).
