In March 2023, compared to 2022, the volume of money transfers from Russia to Kazakhstan increased by 2.7 times. The total amount of transfers reached 12.2 billion tenge ($27.5 million). This was reported RBC with reference to the data of the National Bank of Kazakhstan.
Russia has become a leader in terms of cross-country revenues to Kazakhstan. It accounted for 41% of the volume of transfers, in terms of the number of transfers – 54%. In total, 61.6 thousand transfers were made through money transfer systems in March.
According to the FBS border service, in 2022 Kazakhstan became the third most popular destination for Russians to travel abroad. 2.7 million trips were made to this country, peaking in the third quarter of the year after the announcement of partial mobilization in Russia.
