The volume of FPS transactions in the first quarter doubled to 5.4 trillion rubles

During the first quarter of 2023, on average, one person made 16 transfers and paid for six purchases through the Faster Payments System (FPS), informs Central Bank (CB). The number of transactions through the SBP for this period amounted to 1.2 billion, the volume – 5.4 trillion rubles. (2.2 times more than in the same period last year – 2.4 trillion rubles).
The volume of operations in the SBP since the start of the launch has exceeded 25.6 trillion rubles. Over the year, the number of stores and service enterprises where you can pay through the FPS has almost tripled, to 675,000, the Central Bank added.
SBP was launched in 2019. CB obliged banks to implement the FPS for legal entities from April 1, 2024. Government planned allocate an additional 800 million rubles. to reimburse the commission to small and medium-sized businesses for the use of the SBP.
