For 2023, the total number of clients of the VTB retail broker (MOEX: VTBR) increased by almost a third, to more than 3.2 million, and the volume of the broker’s assets increased by 86%, said member of the bank’s board Vitaly Sergeychuk as part of the VTB Strategic Week. According to him, in the next three years, VTB plans to expand its share in the market of brokerage services for individuals from 18 to 25%.
“One of the significant directions within the framework of VTB’s strategy for the next three years is the development of the brokerage business. We are going to significantly increase our share to 25%. In numbers, we already have more than 3.2 million clients, about 1.4 trillion rubles. under management,” said Mr. Sergeychuk.
According to a member of the VTB board, at the end of last year, the broker’s clients earned more than 90 billion rubles, of which dividends amounted to 25.27 billion rubles. The number of transactions of the broker’s clients in 2023 on the stock, derivatives and foreign exchange markets exceeded 140 million.
Mr. Sergeychuk noted that the VTB broker intends to be one of the first on the market to launch trading on non-working days. At the first stage, the innovation will affect the Liquidity money market exchange-traded fund. Later, the list of securities available for transactions on non-working days will expand.
Last December, Vitaly Sergeychuk told VTB plans to launch brokerage services for legal entities in 2024. According to him, companies will have the opportunity to place available funds through repo, trade securities, and also hedge currency risks with futures contracts on the Moscow Exchange.
