The US White House called on “not to get ahead of ourselves” in the Nord Stream investigations

There is no need to “get ahead” of the investigation into the explosions of the Nord Stream and Nord Stream 2 gas pipelines, said John Kirby, coordinator of the US National Security Council for Strategic Communications. This is how he answered the question whether the United States will take measures against Ukraine if its involvement in the explosions is proven.

“Again, I’m not going to get ahead of myself in terms of the ongoing investigations into Nord Stream 2… And I’m certainly not going to hypothetically speculate on what the outcome of that investigation might be,” Kirby said on briefing. According to him, Washington is focused on ensuring that Kyiv “continues to get what it needs” amid a counter-offensive.

Explosions at Nord Stream and the uncommissioned Nord Stream 2 occurred on September 26, 2022. Denmark, Germany and Sweden lead joint investigation of the incidents; Russia is not participating in it. In November, The Washington Post and Der Spiegel, citing Ukrainian and European officials reportedthat the explosion of gas pipelines was coordinated by the former commander of one of the units of the Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Colonel Roman Chervinsky. He himself called this information speculation.
