Sergei Belov added that the decision to land the plane in a wheat field was made after a conversation with the dispatcher and co-pilot. Over the past few years, the pilot said, he had practiced a similar situation several times in simulators.
On September 12, the Ural Airlines Airbus A320 plane flew from Sochi to Omsk. During the landing approach, the hydraulic system failed, which is why the pilots redirected the plane towards Novosibirsk airport. At 9:44, flight U6-1383 made an emergency landing in a wheat field in the Novosibirsk region. None of the passengers were injured.
This is not the first emergency landing in a field for Ural Airlines. In August 2019, an Airbus A321 aircraft from the same company landed in a corn field.
