The United States told Turkey that the price ceiling for oil from the Russian Federation does not require additional inspections of ships

US Deputy Treasury Secretary Wally Adeyemo held talks with Turkish Deputy Foreign Minister Sedat Onal, during which the parties discussed the imposition of price restrictions on Russian oil. Mr. Adeyemo stressed that restrictive measures for the supply of raw materials from Russia do not require additional inspections of ships.

“The price cap regime applies only to oil of Russian origin and does not require additional checks of ships passing through Turkish territorial waters,”— leads words of Mr. Adeyemo US Treasury press service.

During the talks, US and Turkish officials also emphasized their interest in maintaining a sufficient level of supply in the global energy market through the introduction of a simple control regime that would allow the transit of offshore oil through the Turkish straits, according to the press service of the US agency.
