Over the past year (data – March to March), the average cost of spare parts increased by 19.5%. Updated information is available in the new directories of the Russian Union of Motor Insurers (RSA), informed the press service of the association with reference to the head Evgeny Ufimtsev.

The most noticeable growth was shown by spare parts for foreign cars, indicated in the PCA. For example, the average cost of a Nissan tailgate increased by 80%, a Mitsubishi front chassis wiring by 67%, a Hyundai headlight by 47%, and so on.

However, the situation is gradually stabilizing. Thus, prices in March reference books compared to December editions decreased by an average of 6.4%. A calming factor was the emergence of new channels for the supply of spare parts. “This restrains pressure on the OSAGO tariff, which is exerted by sharply increased prices for car repairs,” said Mr. Ufimtsev.

In January, insurers proposed limiting the ability for car owners to refuse to use used parts for OSAGO repairs. Market participants were forced to think about such measures due to the current situation with the supply of spare parts.
