The Tver Academic Drama Theater, as part of the all-Russian project “Russia Sings Victory to the Army,” presented on February 17 on the stage of the Central House of the Russian Army (CDRA) a theatrical version of Alexander Tvardovsky’s poem “Vasily Terkin.”
As MK was informed by the Russian Ministry of Defense, the project “Russia Sings Victory to the Army” is carried out in support of Russian military personnel participating in the Northern Military District. Spectators of performances by creative groups from the regions are military personnel and members of their families.
“Now, when our soldiers and officers defend the sovereignty of Russia during the Northern Military District, we see our mission as using theatrical art to maintain the connection between times and generations, to emphasize and develop real patriotic values in society,” said the artistic director of the Tver Academic Theater dramas Dmitry Petrun.
The Tver Drama Theater was one of the first in the country to respond to the VSO. In 2022, the play “Eternally Living” by Viktor Rozov, directed by the theater’s chief director Alexander Pavlishin, returned to the repertoire on the big stage.
The theater hosts the “Letter to a Soldier” event. Spectators and guests of the theater had the opportunity before and after the performances to write good wishes, words of support and participation to the heroes of the Northern Military District.
