The Turkish operator Havas warned about the risks of servicing Russian aircraft that fell under US sanctions

The largest Turkish operator and provider of ground handling services at airports Havas warned contractors about the risks of servicing imported aircraft owned by airlines in Russia, Belarus, Iran, as well as businessman Roman Abramovich. Attached to the letter is a list of aircraft that are recommended to be denied service. The list included 170 aircraft of Russian airlines, such as Aeroflot, AirBridgeCargo, Azur Air, I Fly, Pegas Fly, Pobeda, Rossii, S7, Utair, Ural Airlines, Red Wings, Nordwind and Yamal . We are also talking about seven Belarusian liners of the Belavia carrier and Iranian Iran Air and Mahan Airlines.
The list mentions the business jets Boeing 787 Dreamliner and Gulfstream G650, which, according to the operator, belong to Roman Abramovich. Meanwhile, a representative of a businessman in a commentary to RBC denied that Mr. Abramovich had planes in Turkey.
The aircraft mentioned in the list came under the restrictions of the US Department of Commerce in the spring of 2022. The head of Havas said that the company received warnings from the US Department of Commerce in connection with the maintenance of the mentioned liners.
Maintenance of aircraft bound for Russia and Belarus, as well as those assembled by more than 25% using American technology, is considered a violation of export regulations. An exception is possible upon obtaining a special license. In total, 173 aircraft of Russian airlines are included in the sanctions list of the US Department of Commerce.
