The Tretyakov Gallery approached Rosatom with a proposal to create a climate capsule to store Andrei Rublev’s Trinity icon. This was reported by RBC with reference to a corporate representative.
According to RBC, Rosatom is currently awaiting full technical specifications from gallery representatives. Presumably, a subsidiary of the Eleron corporation will undertake the creation of the capsule. It specializes in the production of high-tech protection and security systems.
The icon of Andrei Rublev “Trinity”, painted in the 15th century, has been in the Tretyakov Gallery since 1929. In May 2023, President Vladimir Putin decided to transfer the icon to the church, after which it was put up in the Cathedral of Christ the Savior on the feast of the Trinity. Currently, “Trinity” is located in the Scientific and Restoration Center. I.E. Grabar. It is planned that later the icon will go to the Trinity-Sergius Lavra. The decision to donate the ancient icon to the church caused criticism in the museum and restoration communities.
On the development of the situation – in the material “Kommersant” “Sad about the image”.
