The total debt of individuals and enterprises that were declared bankrupt in 2022 amounted to 2.1 trillion rubles, according to data from the Judicial Department at the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation (.xls). This is 1.3 times more than in 2021 (1.56 trillion rubles).
The largest share in the total structure of the debt of bankrupts was the debts of enterprises – 1.6 trillion rubles. (against 1.21 trillion rubles in 2021). The total number of enterprises declared bankrupt in 2022 amounted to 8.9 thousand (in 2021 – 10.1 thousand). In total, in 2022, the courts received 25.7 thousand applications for the recognition of companies as insolvent, 18.7 thousand cases were accepted for proceedings.
The majority of insolvency cases were initiated by creditors (12.9 thousand). Over a third of applications were justified by creditors with a debt of 500,000 rubles or more. up to 3 million rubles, 30% of applications – debt up to 500 thousand rubles. About debt from 3 million to 10 million rubles. reported by 18% of applicants.
The debts of bankrupt citizens in 2022 amounted to 384.7 billion rubles. (in 2021 – 320.7 billion). Over 273 thousand people were declared bankrupt. (against 231 thousand in 2021). Another 2.3 thousand bankruptcy decisions were taken by the court in relation to individual entrepreneurs. Their total debt in 2022 exceeded 14 billion rubles. In total, in 2022, the courts accepted for processing 308.1 thousand applications for the insolvency of citizens out of 324.2 thousand received.
Most of the applications for bankruptcy of individuals (not individual entrepreneurs) were filed by citizens themselves (92.3% of cases, 284 thousand). In most cases (67%), the amount of debt ranged from 500 thousand to 3 million rubles. In 4.6 thousand cases, signs of fictitious or deliberate bankruptcy were revealed.
