The Supervisory Board approved Pavel Marinychev as CEO of ALROSA

Pavel Marinychev became the new CEO and Chairman of the Board of ALROSA. The supervisory board of the company approved him in this position for a period of three years. The decision was taken unanimously, press office ALROSA.
ALROSA is the world leader in terms of production and explored diamond reserves. The group occupies 27% of the world and about 90% of the Russian diamond mining market. The main mining assets are located in Yakutia and the Arkhangelsk region. 34% of the shares are in free float, 66% fall to the share of the Russian Federation, Yakutia and its municipalities. “As CEO, I will continue to strengthen the company’s leadership position in the global diamond industry. Our strategic priorities remain unchanged. Despite the difficult geopolitical conditions, we will strengthen the resource base, improve production efficiency and management quality,” the press service quoted Mr. Marinychev as saying after taking office as CEO.
The new Chairman of the Board stressed the need to pay special attention to the development of ALROSA’s talent pool, industrial and environmental safety issues. He promised that the company would support social and environmental initiatives in the regions where it operates.
Pavel Marinychev replaced Sergey Ivanov as CEO. In an interview with Kommersant, Mr. Ivanov declaredthat he decided not to renew the contract, but will remain on the Supervisory Board of ALROSA. The fact that the Supervisory Board is preparing to consider the candidacy of Mr. Marinychev, became known May 15.
Since 2016, Pavel Marinychev has headed Almazy Anabar, which accounts for up to 15% of the diamond production of the entire group. Previously, he held the position of First Deputy Prime Minister of Yakutia, where he oversaw issues of geology, subsoil use, industry, housing and communal services, energy and construction for more than six years.
