According to the resolutions that were at the disposal of the editors, the punishment followed a violation of labor legislation (including in terms of the procedure for terminating employment contracts) committed during the dismissal of four artists – Elena Burkhanova-Kalinina, Galina Vlasova, Elina Kozlova and Galina Anisimova.
It is noteworthy that the inspection can punish a negligent employer only within a year, while always waiting for a court decision. Purely in time, the Yermolovsky Theater cannot be fined for the rest of the illegally dismissed actors (they simply did not have time to file a complaint). But the verdict was the perfect icing on the cake of a story in which people who lost their jobs won justice in court and were reinstated in their positions.
Recall that this situation would not have attracted such attention if the theater’s artistic director Oleg Menshikov had not held a press conference in a luxurious Moscow restaurant against the backdrop of last year’s “downsizing”. While the artists who were already fired from a meager salary at that time met with the press in a cafe located in the basement. At the level of symbols, this was reminiscent of a war of huts with palaces, and on November 7, the “revolutionary” day, the huts won the final victory.
