State Duma deputy Anton Gorelkin (United Russia) proposed creating conditions for a natural fall in demand for the products of the American company Apple. About this he declared in an interview with RIA Novosti.
“Whether it is necessary to ban their sale on the territory of the Russian Federation is a moot point. There is no need to go to extremes, it is necessary to create conditions under which the demand for Apple equipment will fall for natural reasons, and this will be a voluntary and conscious choice of the citizens themselves,” the deputy said.
Gorelkin explained this with “issues regarding the security of foreign gadgets and operating systems.” According to him, it would be advisable for Russian civil servants to “refuse to use gadgets produced in NATO countries.”
On July 4, an order was sent to employees of the Ministry of Industry and Trade banning the further use of Apple devices from July 17. An employee of one of the companies – developers of IT solutions told Vedomosti that similar bans will be introduced in other departments and regions in the near future.
A spokesman for the ministry, confirming the data on the ban, noted that in June information from the Russian FSB was made public, indicating the close cooperation of the American company with the national intelligence community, in particular the US National Security Agency (NSA).

They are absolutely transparent, and, of course, their use for official purposes is unacceptable and prohibited,” the Kremlin spokesman said.
