The State Duma expects that the law on the digital ruble will come into force in May

The law on the issuance and circulation of the digital ruble will be adopted in April this year, and the document will come into force in May. This was announced by Anatoly Aksakov, Chairman of the State Duma Committee on the Financial Market, during the Russian Financial Market Forum.
“He (the law on the digital ruble.— “b”) is now adopted in the first reading and is being prepared for the second reading. I am sure that we will receive it in April. And, accordingly, in May it will begin to operate. Accordingly, our digital ruble will also become real,” said Mr. Aksakov (quoted by RIA Novosti).
According to Anatoly Aksakov, after the digital ruble begins to operate, Russian digital financial assets will receive an additional impetus to be issued more actively.
Law on digital ruble was approved deputies of the State Duma in the first reading on March 16. The document empowers the Bank of Russia to create and manage the infrastructure for the functioning of a new form of national currency. The Bank of Russia promises to start a pilot project using real digital rubles in April. It is expected that the digital ruble will enter the consumer turnover will go in in seven years, by 2030.
