The State Duma Committee asked to explain the decision to remove Pushkin from the USE program

The State Duma Committee on Family, Women and Children sent a letter to the head of the Ministry of Education, Sergei Kravtsov, in connection with information about the decision to remove some classics from the USE preparation program. The deputies asked for an explanation of the decision. Rospotrebnadzor previously reported that the works of these classics can still be used in some tasks.

The letter states that the Federal Institute of Pedagogical Measurements has excluded from the USE preparation program the works of such classics as Alexander Pushkin, Mikhail Lermontov and Nikolai Gogol. “RIA News”. At the same time, foreign writers appear in it. The Committee asked to clarify “the formation of a list of references for the preparation program for the exam.”

All works and authors up to the second half of the 19th century removed in the demo version of the USE codifier on the website of the Federal Institute of Pedagogical Measurements. At the same time, a number of foreign authors were added to the exam – Umberto Eco, Thomas Stearns Eliot, as well as representatives of the literature of the peoples of Russia of the 20th century. Rospotrebnadzor claimsthat the works of the Golden Age are not excluded from the exam in literature in 2024 and can be used in some tasks. The department explained that the codifier reflects only those works that students pass in the 11th grade. At the exam, as before, there may be assignments based on the works of Alexander Pushkin, Mikhail Lermontov, Nikolai Gogol, Denis Fonvizin, Gavriil Derzhavin.
