The State Duma adopted a protocol order to audit the financial activities of the state corporation Rusnano. This is reported by Interfax.
The order was initiated by deputies of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation, and was supported by the majority in the State Duma. The Committees on Economic Policy, as well as Security and Anti-Corruption, asked the government to provide a report on the results of Rusnano’s financial activities for the entire existence of the state corporation. In the future, representatives of parliament plan to contact the Accounts Chamber and law enforcement agencies.
Rusnano’s report for the first half of the year, which it published on October 3, states that the state corporation has signs of insolvency and a high risk of signs of bankruptcy. The document also talks about the inability to fully fulfill debt obligations, and the demands of creditors “significantly exceed the value of the assets.” At the end of June, Rusnano’s net debt amounted to 95.56 billion rubles.
In September, at the Eastern Economic Forum, Russian President Vladimir Putin tied up departure of the founder of Rusnano from the country with a financial hole in the state corporation. Presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov also stated that the Kremlin is studying the problem of the state corporation.
