The Spasskaya Tower festival was held at VDNKh

Spectators of the Spasskaya Tower International Military Music Festival every year before the start of the show were looking forward to the performance of the horsemen. Dashing riders demonstrated dzhigitovka, various methods of working with a horse, possession of weapons at full gallop. It always delighted adults and children, created a special holiday atmosphere, and the performances of cavalrymen became real performances, without which it was already impossible to imagine the Moscow parade of orchestras. During the years of the Spasskaya Tower Festival, 350 thousand spectators applauded the horses and riders!

The famous military music festival is now not only on Red Square. The opening of its second official site took place on the territory of VDNKh. In order to allow more spectators to see the riders, it was decided to move the equestrian program to the exhibition area. Especially for this purpose, new stands were erected at VDNKh for almost one and a half thousand seats. Every day from August 19 to early September, you can see colorful performances of the festival participants for free – the best equestrian groups, military orchestras and musical groups.

The festival itself will officially open on Red Square on August 26 and will last until September 4. Soldiers and officers of the Cavalry honorary escort of the Presidential Regiment, KShVE riders, horse archers will become participants in the equestrian part of the festival, as in previous years. Representatives of the mounted police specially prepared a number that can be called a “cotillion” – this is a kind of horse “ballet”, by the way, even under Peter I it was an indispensable element in the parade review of troops.

On the opening day for fans of the Wild West, the Spasskaya Tower festival prepared a special Western show program. Eight professional teams take part in the performance: KSK “Arkaim” and “Titanium Studio Farm”, equestrian tourist base “Ataman”, sports team “Western Forrest”, sports team “Voronova Team”, “School of Sports Western”, sports team ” Silver Stone”, the Indian tribe “Jungle” and the dance group of the fire show “FulgAt Group”.

The audience saw a bright and romantic palette of cultural colors of Indians and cowboys in a new interpretation of the show project “Legends of the Wild West”. Demonstration of western disciplines is presented in the genre of performance, strength disciplines and the most accessible and safe block from the rodeo – “Racing around the barrels”.

Every day, the equestrian program will last six hours, and it is not only interesting, but also the most informative: master classes for children are organized, interactive information about the festival is prepared. Tour guides will take you through the stables and introduce you to the horses.

Russia has accumulated rich traditions associated with horses: the exploits of cavalry units in the days of famous military battles, the victories of our horsemen in major competitions. It is impossible to imagine a Russian knight and a Russian peasant without a horse, and we must not only preserve, but also increase these traditions.
