The Spanish Enagas named Russia the main gas supplier in June

The Spanish energy company Enagas said that in June Russia ranked first in terms of gas supplies to Spain, the kingdom purchased the equivalent of 7,673 GWh of liquefied natural gas (LNG) from the Russian Federation. About this with reference to Enagas data writes TASS.

The share of Russian imports in the total volume of gas supplies is 26.8%. Madrid also buys gas from Algeria (21%) and the US (18.5%). According to Enagas, Moscow supplied the kingdom with 41,145 GWh of LNG in six months, and in the first six months of 2022, this figure was at the level of 22,948 GWh. According to the energy company, at the end of last year, the volume of gas purchased from the Russian Federation increased by 45%, but Moscow is still inferior to the United States, Algeria and Nigeria in terms of supplies.

At the end of March at the Russian embassy in Madrid reportedthat exports to Spain against the background of increasing gas supplies increased by 26.4% and amounted to 7.6 billion euros. The diplomatic mission then specified that Madrid increased the supply of Russian energy carriers by 46%, due to which Moscow took fourth place in the list of main gas suppliers (12.1% of the total).

In June 2022, Russia became the second largest exporter of natural gas to Spain, overtaking Algeria, wrote Bloomberg citing Enagas data.
