Theater Managers Festival awards the most breakthrough projects

The Theater Management Educational Forum (EFTM), which has recently completed its work in Moscow, is the largest workshop. Here they do not theorize, but present and break down successfully implemented projects. The Vakhtangov Theater Forum named the most interesting ones, but unlike the previous awards, this time there were not three, but four.

The forum presented a book by the main ideologist of the forum, director of the Vakhtangov Theater Kirill Krok. As you know, theater directors do not like to write books. And Krok, who has been directing Vakhtangovsky for twelve years, wrote – it is called “You must love the theater. And contrary to it.” And these are not just memoirs of a successful manager, but rather a frank, honest story about himself, about the theater, about the people who inhabit it. As well as losses, disappointments, gains and … love for the theater. Fortunately separated. Kirill Krok’s book can be viewed as a practical guide to building your own life, the theater you serve.

So, all projects are presented, protected, valuable experience, as they say, passed from hand to hand. But everyone was looking forward to the names of the winners of the WFTM-2022 award. And here they are named: Egor Mukhin – Executive Director of the Perm “Theater-Theater”. Director of the smallest theater in Russia “Blokha” Yana Pleshanova, who is also a fifth-year student of the production faculty of RGISI. Her smallest theater is housed in a former shoe shop.

“We proved to ourselves and the audience that it’s cool and safe not to keep a distance from theatrical art,” Yana said, receiving the award. — It became clear to us that a small space does not affect the vastness of the audience experience. In addition, our scene challenges artists by offering unusual working conditions.

Among the laureates is the director of the Arkhangelsk drama Sergei Samodov, whose projects help shape and develop the theater community in Arkhangelsk. And the fourth winner was Yan Smolentsev from the Nizhnevartovsk Youth Theater, who presented a development project in the northern region.
