The series “Sexual Education” had a tearful ending

The fourth season disappointed many fans

Fans have been waiting for the final season of the popular series for two years. And now that everyone has laughed off the joke about two years without sex, we can try to understand why this project has become one of the main TV hits of recent years.

The abundance of storylines in the fourth season can sometimes make your head spin. In short, the students of the school, where the main character Otis (Asa Butterfield), having overheard the work conversations of his mother, a specialist in relationship psychology, decides to counsel his classmates, begin adulthood and go to college, which only adds problems, including intimate life.

The long wait for the final season has provoked a lot of questions among fans, primarily about how exciting the adventures will be beyond the scope of a teen comedy due to the age of the characters. The first two seasons reminded seasoned audiences of the hit movie “American Pie” in the best sense. The young actors played above all praise, and the situations they found themselves in were not only funny, but also had a clear therapeutic effect.

In the third season, the authors seemed to be a little deflated. The soundtrack of disco, punk and David Bowie songs sounded great, but in the monologues a highly moral weight suddenly appeared, and the lines of some characters seemed to have been forgotten to be written. In the final season, these problems manifested themselves to an even greater extent, but the main surprise, of course, was the appearance of the matured heroes.

Asa Butterfield has turned into an adult uncle who would do well to play fathers, rather than young people in the process of dealing with relationship problems. This also applies to others, and it takes some time to perceive what is happening in the frame without amazement. However, if you can come to terms with the fact that impetuous teenagers have become uncles and aunts, then the new season could bring a lot of pleasure.

In its final stage, “Sexual Education” is still a very human and sincere series about how complex something seemingly very simple can be and vice versa.

Perhaps Otis and Maeve’s (Emma Mackie) romance isn’t the season’s most dramatic arc. Their relationship is clearly doomed due to the fact that the girl wants to move across the ocean and study in America to become a writer. But the heroes, mercilessly stepping on the throat of their own songs, still accept each other with all their problems, make love and part as friends. In a letter from America, the girl tells her friend that a piece of him will forever remain in her heart. While excessive demands on the scriptwriters when watching the finale of Sexual Education may be unnecessary, handkerchiefs are definitely not.
