The series “IP Pirogov”: release dates for the latest episodes

On August 9, Russian TV channels and streaming services will premiere a new series of the popular sitcom IP Pirogov. The plot of the series “IP Pirogov”

“IP Pirogova” is a Russian comedy show about a businesswoman Vera Pirogova. The series was first shown on Russian TV channels in February 2019. To date, it has already stretched for as many as 5 seasons, and the very first season was even awarded the TEFI award as the “Best Daytime Television Series”.

Vera Pirogova, it seems, had everything one could dream of: a quiet life as a housewife, a handsome husband, a smart daughter. But one day this idyll, which lasted 15 years, was destroyed when Pirogova found out that her dear Dima was cheating on her with another. She immediately drove the unfaithful spouse out of the house. But along with him, all means of subsistence left her life, because it was he who brought the money to the house.

But Vera does not lose heart, she decides to take care of the family in her own hands and open a small confectionery business. The new “stortap” is growing very slowly, but, fortunately, Vera has faithful helpers: a daughter with a difficult character, an emotional sister and an eccentric elderly father. Together they want to create a confectionery brand that all of Russia will hear about.

The series was directed by Andrey Maslov. Despite being quite young for a director, only 35 years old, he is not a debutant at all in the domestic industry of serials. Even before IP Pirogova, he managed to work on the rather popular show Hotel Eleon from STS, and recently also had a hand in the hit Russian streaming services Vampires of the Middle Band. According to Maslov, at the heart of his series is a difficult choice between financial well-being and simple family happiness: “It is very interesting to follow how a new job begins to affect Vera’s personal life. Still, a home business makes it possible to connect a family to it. But when you open your own business, you have to sacrifice something. Soon we will see what our heroine will choose: a family or a successful career.”

Season 5, which began airing on July 7 this year, will be the series’ final. In it, Vera will meet in a culinary duel with the obstinate host of the popular show “The Best Confectioner of Russia”, who decides to destroy Pirogova’s business at all costs.

Elena Podkaminskaya took the closure of the series with sadness

The role of the enterprising housewife Vera Pirogova was played by Elena Podkaminskaya. Many viewers may know her from the TV series The Last Axel, where she played the role of figure skating coach Artakova, and Kitchen, in which she embodied the image of manager Victoria Goncharova on the screen. The actress herself admitted that she absolutely does not like to cook and does not know how, and all the desserts for filming were either props or they were prepared by a professional confectioner.

She met the news about the end of the project with sadness and understanding: “I took the news of the closure especially close to my heart, the show still became an important part of my life. Nevertheless, I support the decision of the authors to complete the history of the Pirogov family. You can’t sit in one place for too long, it’s always important to leave on time.”

The role of the insidious presenter of the “Best Confectioner of Russia” was played by Jan Tsapnik, the main star of the TV series “The Last Minister”. Ironically, Tsapnik is a trained chef himself. The actor says that, although his hero is cynical, at the same time he is just a big fan of his work, who takes any criticism with hostility.

Also in the series you can see Alexander Pankratov-Cherny, who played in the classic Soviet films “We are from Jazz” and “Before Dawn”, Danila Dunaev, who is most likely known to many from the series of films “Pregnancy Test”, Vasilina Yuskovets, who managed to at the age of 20, to appear in the films “Outside the game” and the TV series “Ivanov-Ivanov”, and many others.

When will the final episodes of IP Pirogova be released?

On August 9, the 10th episode of the 5th season will be released on Russian TV channels, in total it is planned to release 13 episodes. On this, as already mentioned, the series will end. Release schedule for the remaining episodes:
