The Russian national football team will have a new technical sponsor instead of Adidas

The Russian Football Union (RFU) will stop using Adidas equipment in 2023, the national team will have a new technical sponsor, negotiations are underway, informed RFU President Alexander Dyukov in a comment to TASS.
“We can say for sure that in 2023 we will not have an Adidas kit. When will there be a new partner? In the first quarter. Now we are negotiating – there will be a new technical sponsor,” he said.
Adidas has been the official technical partner of the RFU since 2008 and is the exclusive outfitter for all Russian men’s and women’s football, futsal, beach soccer and e-football teams, including youth teams. In August 2021, the technical sponsorship renewal agreement was extended until 2026
March 1, 2022, shortly after the start of the special operation in Ukraine, the German company announced on the suspension of cooperation with the RFU. As TASS notes, the national team of the Russian Federation still played three friendly matches in the fall in the form of Adidas. Prior to this, the International Football Federation (FIFA) and the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) announced the suspension of Russian clubs and teams from participation in all tournaments. The publication noted that the heads of the two organizations hope for a significant and rapid improvement in the situation in Ukraine, “so that football again becomes a vector of unity and peace between people.” On February 28, it became known that UEFA was also terminating the sponsorship contract with the Russian company “Gazprom”, calculated until 2024.
