The government allocated an additional 836.5 million rubles. for the reconstruction and overhaul of children’s regional theaters in 2023 and 2024. The corresponding order on the redistribution of funds was signed by Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.
More than 198 million will be used to complete the renovation of the Volgograd Puppet Theater, which will allow the work to be completed by the end of 2023, reports press service government. This year funds will also be allocated for the renovation of the Tomsk Regional Theater.
In 2024, 630 million rubles. will be distributed for the repair of youth theaters in the Saratov, Kaluga, Orenburg, Ryazan, Samara regions, the republics of Mari El, Tyva and Buryatia, as well as in the Trans-Baikal Territory.
The work is being carried out within the framework of the national project “Culture”. The renovation of theaters, according to the government, will increase their attendance and increase the tourist attractiveness of the regions. In total, the government has allocated 1.3 billion rubles for the modernization of cultural facilities in 2023, and almost 2 billion rubles in 2024.
