The Russian government approved the extension of the agreement with Kazakhstan on the transit of oil to China

The Russian government issued order on the extension of a long-term agreement with Kazakhstan on the transit of Russian oil to China. The document has been extended until January 1, 2034.

The agreement provides for the transportation of Russian oil in the amount of up to 10 million tons per year to China through Kazakhstan via the Atasu-Alashankou pipeline. Oil transit is carried out by Russia’s Rosneft and Kazakhstan’s KazTransOil.

The agreement between Russia and Kazakhstan has been in effect since January 1, 2014.
