The Russian gas industry may lose half of its revenue by the end of 2023

According to the results of 2023, the revenue of companies in the Russian gas industry in 2023 may more than halve compared to 2022 and amount to $71 billion. Such a forecast is presented in a study by the consulting company Yakov and Partners (former McKinsey in Russia).
At the end of last year, revenue reached $165 billion, in 2021 – $101 billion. By 2030, the figure, according to Yakov and Partners, can recover to $97 billion. But this will happen only if world gas prices stabilize, and all export projects in the Russian Federation will be implemented. At the same time, analysts expect that the share of export earnings in the revenue of gas companies in 2023 will decrease to 50-60% against 84% last year and 74% in 2021.
