The special representative of the Russian President for international cultural cooperation, former Russian Minister of Culture Mikhail Shvydkoy, said that all joint Russian projects with unfriendly countries in the field of culture have currently been curtailed due to geopolitical reasons.
“We have no projects with unfriendly countries at the state level. Everything related to state relations with unfriendly countries, I mean primarily the states of the European Union, the USA and Canada, relations have been interrupted,” Mr. Shvydkoy said in an interview TASS.
At the same time, he emphasized that at the individual level, contacts with Western cultural figures are still maintained, and tours and performances of Russian artists in Western countries also continue. “Russian artists continue to work in Europe and America. At the same time, European artists come to Russia. Today we can watch French or Italian films in cinemas,” explained Mikhail Shvydkoy.
