The trading network Auchan Retail Russia (the Russian division of the French retail chain Auchan Retail) stated that it does not intend to announce its withdrawal from the Russian market. The company noted that, on the contrary, they plan to expand the scope of activities and increase profits.

“Auchan Retail Russia confirms that it does not plan to revise the strategy and organization of work in Russia and continues to implement its goals. The company not only does not close, but, moreover, plans to develop a number of areas to expand its scope of activities and increase profits,” the company’s press service reported (quoted from TASS).

Auchan Retail Russia presented its commentary against the backdrop of the announcement of the sale of Russian assets by the French company Ceetrus, which is also part of the Auchan Retail structure. April 14 RBC reportedthat Ceetrus closed a deal for the sale of shopping complexes in Russia (the company owned over 150 thousand sq. m of retail space). The new owner of the Russian “Sitras” was the company “Trading Galleries”.
