The Russian cybersecurity market may grow 2.5 times by 2026

In the next 5 years, the domestic cybersecurity market is expected to grow from 185.9 billion to 469 billion rubles. (by 2.5 times). This conclusion was reached by the authors of a study conducted by the Center for Strategic Research (CSR). Vedomosti got acquainted with its results.

Due to the geopolitical situation that changed significantly at the beginning of 2022, many Western developers of information security tools left the Russian market. Their solutions occupied 39% of the total volume of the Russian market as of 2021, the study says.

At the same time, the entire cybersecurity market in Russia, according to the results of 2021, amounted to 185.9 billion rubles. The total share of services is 27% of the total market, and the supply of information security tools, including software, is 73%, according to the CSR report.

Starting from 2023, almost the entire budget of customers for information security tools in the B2G and B2B sectors will be spent on products from Russian suppliers, which will enable this part of the market to grow from 113 billion rubles. in 2021 to 446 billion rubles. in 2026 (by 4 times), experts of the Center for Strategic Research believe.

At the same time, the market share of foreign vendors will continue to decline and reach its minimum of 5% in 2023 due to their final exit (Cisco, IBM, Fortinet, ESET, etc.) due to the ban on use in the public sector and at critical information infrastructure facilities (for telecom operators, banks, etc.). This ban was established by a presidential decree signed in March 2022. The share of domestic developers may change due to possible gray imports, the authors of the study warn. It is expected that the share of foreign developers in the domestic market will stabilize at the level of 5%, but may grow to 8% in 2026, the CSR concludes.
