The release of the version of RuStore for Android TV is scheduled for the summer – Kommersant

VK, which develops the RuStore mobile app store, has announced a platform version for smart TVs and set-top boxes. The intention to adapt the store for them, which is currently only available in the version for Android phones, was announced by Ivan Myzdrikov, VK vice president for the development of mail services and the app store. We are talking about adapting the version for the Android TV platform, he said in response to a question from Kommersant.

“We will adapt (RuStore.— “b”) for new platforms: for tablets, for media players and for TV,” said Mr. Myzdrikov during the Russian Internet Forum. The release of the new version for the version, according to the presentation on the forum, is scheduled for the summer. Mr. Myzdrikov said that VK already has agreements with a number of TV device manufacturers to pre-install RuStore, but did not disclose with which ones.

VK has not previously announced its intention to make a version of RuStore for TVs. However, the Ministry of Digital Development in March presented a draft government decree that requires the national application store to be pre-installed on TVs supported by it. The document also requires that RuStore be deeply integrated into the operating system of phones sold in Russia, up to the offer of registration when the device is turned on for the first time. Association of Trading Companies and Manufacturers of Electrical Household and Computer Equipment (RATEK) criticized initiative: according to her recall, the integration of RuStore is contrary to the agreements between phone manufacturers and Google.
