The Russian Prosecutor General’s Office obtained from Wildberries changes to about 20 provisions regulating the relationship between the marketplace, sellers and buyers. About it reports press service of the department.
Wildberries has removed the rule about the buyer’s obligation to check the quality of the goods upon receipt; the return date is now considered the moment of refusal. Now the marketplace can reschedule delivery only with the buyer’s consent, and the consumer has the right to refuse a purchase, including “technically complex devices.”
In addition, Wildberries has shortened the processing time for a claim for product replacement and began testing the function of canceling an order through your personal account.
The company was also allowed to retain compensation for expenses when returning goods of proper quality in three cases: a low share of redemption by the buyer, long transportation distances and the presence of special features of the goods. The latter includes large, fragile products, as well as substituted goods by unscrupulous buyers.
On October 12, Prosecutor General Igor Krasnov ordered Wildberries to check the legality of introducing a commission of 3% for paying for goods with cards of the international payment systems Visa and Mastercard. Rospotrebnadzor and the Bank of Russia also participated in the inspection. The next day, following a meeting at the Prosecutor General’s Office, the marketplace canceled additional commission and promised to return the funds to buyers. The meeting also touched upon the topic of returning goods of inadequate quality, the company clarified.
