The structure of billionaire Alexander Klyachin sold the Karat processed cheese factory located in Moscow, they report “Vedomosti” with reference to data from the Unified State Register of Legal Entities. According to them, on September 21, 2023, 99.9% in Karat Investments LLC (owned by Karat JSC) became the property of entrepreneur Alexander Voznesensky. Previously, this share was owned by the Gleden Capital company, part of Mr. Klyachin’s Gleden Invest.
Karat is one of the three largest producers of processed and curd cheese in Russia (brands Druzhba, Yantar and Violette). Alexander Klyachin bought the plant from Svyaz-Bank and the former owner of the plant, Vladimir Korsun, in 2018. Mr. Klyachin ranks 95th in the Forbes ranking, his fortune is estimated at $1.2 billion.
In May, the Zamoskvoretsky court, as part of the claim of Deputy Prosecutor General Igor Tkachev against the oil company Rus-Oil, seized other assets of the billionaire. Among them were shares and shares of companies that own the Azimut Hotels hotel chain, projects of the development company KR Properties, and the Metropol Hotel. One of the defendants in the lawsuit is businessman Alexey Khotin.
