The prefect specified that he “seized the prosecution of the court of Valenciennes” Tuesday evening, after two “home visits” organized in Lourches, where the imam resides, “proved unsuccessful”. One of the preacher’s sons told journalists on the spot on Tuesday evening that his father was not present at this address and that he himself did not know where he was.
“Inconsistencies in the European immigration system”
At the start of the evening, on France 5, Mr. Darmanin declared that Mr. Iquioussen was “obviously in Belgium”. He added that he would give “information” on the preacher to his Belgian counterpart so that he cannot “not come to France”. “It will be forbidden to come to France. Morocco suspends its “consular pass”

Born in France, Hassan Iquioussen had not opted for French nationality when he came of age, taking Moroccan nationality from his parents. Aged 58, he lives regularly in France. He has five children and fifteen grandchildren, all French.
