December 22 gas price in Europe went down below $1,000 for the first time since October 26. Since the beginning of the day, the overall decline in gas prices in Europe amounted to about 7%.
On 22 December the Council of Europe officially approved gas price ceiling at €180 per MWh (approximately €1.85 thousand per 1 thousand cubic meters). It will come into effect on February 15, 2023, subject to a number of conditions.
